Aquarium filters are at the heart of an aquarium, essential for maintaining good water quality and keeping healthy fish.

External canister filters

are ideal for filtering large aquariums and for coping with large tropical fish or goldfish.
External filters are able to hold large amounts of filter media and provide excellent biological and mechanical filtration. Because of the large volume of filter media that external filters are able to hold they are particularly good at coping with large fish. We carry external filters from the market leaders Hagen and Eheim in models to suit all sizes of aquarium.
Both Hagen and Eheim produce filters that are suitable for freshwater aquariums and salt water aquariums.

Internal aquarium filters

are ideal for filtering all but the very smallest aquariums and can cope with even large tropical fish or goldfish. We carry power filters from the market leaders Hagen and Eheim in models to suit all sizes of aquarium. Internal power filters provide water circulation and efficient filtration in the aquarium and are nearly silent in use. Air operated aquarium filters

have been around for many years and are still in use in millions of fish tanks around the world. We keep in stock a good selection of air operated aquarium filters. Undergravel filters are probably the most widely used type of aquarium filtration and provide a very large area of biological filtration. They are equally good for coldwater, tropical or marine aquariums. Sponge filters are widely used in fish breeding tanks and are suitable for very small aquariums.
